India will be facing New Zealand again in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 and fans are eager for the team to avenge the 2019 loss and secure a spot in the tournament final on home soil.
What do India's successful ICC campaigns in 1983, 2011, and 2013 have in common? They did not face New Zealand at any point. However, whether it's the 2000 ICC KnockOut Tournament final, the 2019 World Cup semi-final, or the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) final, India, despite being considered favourites, has consistently struggled against the challenge posed by the Kiwis. It seems that the BlackCaps are India's nemesis.
Now, as the Men in Blue face New Zealand again in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, Indian fans are eager for the team to avenge the MS Dhoni run-out and secure a spot in the tournament final on home soil.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), fans have begun discussing the previous narrow loss and expressed confidence that the current Indian team will seek "2019 ka Badla" (revenge for 2019).
In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, Team India maintained an unbeaten record, winning all nine group games, including one against New Zealand, breaking the jinx.
New Zealand, on the other hand, finished the group stage in fourth place on the points table, accumulating 10 points from five victories and four defeats.
However, the semi-final promises to be a different ball game, and fans are eagerly anticipating another intense clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
