It also stars Satish Shah, Sapna Pabbi, Nikhil Vijay, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Nayani Dixit, and Neelu Kohli in crucial roles.
United Kacche
Story:
Tango, the desi munda from Punjab, moves to London, England, as an illegal immigrant, to live his ancestral dream of settling abroad. However, he struggles to find a job to survive in a foreign land while evading deportation. Starring Sunil Grover, the Manav Shah-directed series also features Satish Shah, Sapna Pabbi, Nikhil Vijay, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Nayani Dixit, and Neelu Kohli in crucial roles.
Review:
Tango (played by Sunil) finally lands in London at 35 years of age to fulfil his ancestral dream of making a successful career and a comfortable living in England, but that too on a fake visa. As soon as he reaches the UK, he witnesses a lot of Punjabis on his way to his rented apartment. He also cracks a joke and says that it seems like a few foreigners have come to Bhatinda as tourists.
As expected, the famous comedian-actor has cracked plenty of jokes throughout the show; however, none of them landed appropriately to make you even giggle, forget laugh!
As the story progresses, it reveals that in the name of a room, Tango gets to share a couch with a Bangladeshi immigrant in the house of a Pakistani couple, who are themselves in a rented apartment owned by an Indian man. This might remind you of a Punjabi film called Chal Mera Putt, starring Sargun Mehta, Garry Sandhu, and Amrinder Gill. The movie focuses on six illegal immigrants from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh who try to get a decent job and make a living in the UK while constantly fearing the legal authorities due to their fake visa status.
Just like Chal Mera Putt, the pivotal actors in United Kacche, including Sunil, Nikhil, Manu Rishi, and Nayani, constantly try to dodge any police officer in their way while finding a well-paying job to survive in London.
Sunil as Tango is not very extraordinary or even hilarious to watch. The actor is much better and funnier as Gutthi in Comedy Nights with Kapil. Nikhil has tried to bring something new to the table with his dual role and Bangla accent; however, it doesn't seem to be working in his favour.
However, Satish Kaushik and Manu Rishi are the two actors who have gathered a few laughs with their quirky characters and acting styles. Sapna Pabbi, as Sunil's love interest, has done a fair job.
United Kacche majorly disappoints with the uneven screenplay as well as the vague dialogue and very lazy writing. With actors like Sunil Grover, Nikhil Vijay, and Satish Kaushik, and a few funny sequences, the trailer definitely upped our expectations, while the so-called "situational comedy" series delivered nada.
Verdict:
United Kacche is everything that can go wrong in a comedy-drama show with such a great ensemble and platform. It's definitely not worth wasting time on.
