The story of The Next 365 Days is so weak it almost doesn't exist.
The Next 365 Days
Story:
Laura is back from the dead. Massimo is going through grief but she wants to live life again. While he's being considerate, she feels her marriage is falling apart. Nacho comes back into her life. Will she divorce Massimo and accept Nacho or stay with her husband?
Review:
"Are you back, baby girl?," Massimo famously asks in The Next 365 Days. We'd like to answer that for him - No. 365 Days was tolerable till there was love, passion and mafia. This last installment though, is purely drama for no reason. The makers have stirred up a recipe for disappointment with every single scene.
The Next 365 Days takes off with the intriguing but not-so-surprising twist. Laura is alive and Massimo lost his twin, Adrian. Michele Morrone brings his character alive once again. Meanwhile, Simone Sussina's Nacho is bland. He is no competition to Massimo even in the slightest.
Anna-Maria Siekluka's Laura is finally her real self. She is stubborn for the wrong reasons though, which isn't the best thing about the film.
This time, even though Laura and Massimo are their usual self, the passion has fizzled out. There is barely anything new in the store for the viewers. Nonetheless, there are a few moments where the basic works better than kink.
Like hinted in 365 Days: This Day, The Next 365 Days does not only revolve around Laura and Massimo. In fact, they have lesser screen space together than ever.
The creep quotient in this movie is at an all-time high. Even the songs here are cringey.
In addition to everything, the screenplay just doesn't fit. Four different scenes are fit into one and they barely make sense anymore.
Of course, 365 Days being the franchise it is, this film too is all about who has the power to control another person. This is one concept which is so toxic it will disgust you to no end.
When you give up on the film, something interesting happens. It changes the plot to slightly interesting but even that is short-lived. In fact, this one ends at a cliffhanger, one that leaves you intrigued and disappointed at the same time.
Verdict:
The Next 365 Days is more drama and less action. There is barely anything to look forward to in this weak script. The only good thing about this film are the locations and cinematography. If you try to dig deeper than that, you'll be up for disappointment. Massimo's Baby Girl and Nacho's Bee and of course, the viewers, deserve so much more than what was offered.
