His case is handed over to top cop Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary), who seeks the help of Raju (Venkatesh), an ex-cop, to handle the situation. The twist arises when Raju's wife, Bhagyalakshmi, insists on accompanying her husband on the mission. The rest of the story revolves around how this quirky trio solves the case and the events that unfold over time.

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam Review

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam was written and directed by star director Anil Ravipudi, known for his unique style of comedy that appeals to a section of the audience. While it may feel a bit over the top, the general audience tends to enjoy it. The trailer of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam hinted at this tone and revealed a story about a husband caught in a crazy situation involving his wife and ex-girlfriend.

Almost every scene features Venkatesh and the two heroines in humorous and chaotic scenarios. Anil Ravipudi’s dialogues are crafted to ensure comedy in every act, making the film a laugh riot. The fun generated by the trio is hilarious and keeps the audience entertained until the end.

Venkatesh steals the show as a man caught in a family loop while also being on a secret mission. He is presented in a vintage avatar for most of the film and delivers one of his best performances in recent times. The situational comedy works seamlessly, providing lighthearted entertainment for the audience.

While the film has its loud moments, when experienced in a packed theater with the masses, they come across as enjoyable. The storyline is simple and doesn’t have major twists or turns, as Anil Ravipudi focuses primarily on delivering comedy. However, some might feel that certain characters are underutilized despite the strong cast. Adding better arcs to these characters could have enhanced the narrative.

The comedy involving the little kid Revanth is one of the highlights of the film. His antics are executed hilariously, adding depth to the overall entertainment. That said, the second half of the film feels slightly stretched, and trimming about ten minutes could have improved the pacing.

Meenakshi Chaudhary fits perfectly in the role of a cop, and her interactions with Venkatesh are delightful. Aishwarya Rajesh plays the housewife and performs decently, though she goes slightly overboard in a few scenes.

Umesh Limaye, known for his work in Animal, is neat in his role but tends to overact in some scenes. The supporting cast, including Naresh, delivers top-notch performances.

The music by Bheems Ceciroleo is solid, with all the songs giving a festive vibe. Although the background score is slightly loud, it aligns with Anil Ravipudi’s style of filmmaking. Dil Raju’s production values are exceptional, and despite a modest budget, every penny spent is evident on screen. The dialogues, screenplay, and production design are polished and effective.

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam Verdict

On the whole, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is a perfect festival watch packed with loads of entertainment. Venkatesh leads from the front, delivering a hilarious performance. While the predictable storyline may not appeal to everyone, the family audience is sure to enjoy the film. If you’re looking for lighthearted fun, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is worth your time.
