Pavitra Rishta Season 2 review: Ankita Lokhande-Shaheer Sheikh series begins on a creepy note, ends up being aww-dorable

Story:

Manav and Archana fall apart after Manav's young brother Sachin dies. The two move on in their lives but still love each other. They even find better halves but can they ever come close to what Manav and Archana feel for each other?

Review:

The first season of Pavitra Rishta 2.0 ended with Manav and Archana parting ways over a misunderstanding. The second season takes off from there only and yet, it has a new perspective.

Shaheer Sheikh sinks into his role as Manav this time around. Ankita Lokhande as Archana is only fairly good and is still trying to build a chemistry with Manav.

The two have actually moved on in life in ways you couldn't even imagine. However, the convenience with which the two keep meeting each other is too unrealistic to grip you.

The makers even used the pandemic angle to bring them closer, which is not as romantic as it seems. Ankita's forced romantic reaction does not help the show one bit on top of that. It comes to a point where you are happy that the makers did not test them positive for COVID so that the two can go back to their own lives rather than pretending to be happy together while confined in the same room (without social distancing, don't ask us why).

There is a dialogue, "Kuch rishte toot ke bhi nahi tootte aur kuch rishte banke bhi nahi bante," which holds true for modern relationships. The series has many dialogues on that line throughout the show but this one definitely sticks around.

The relationship between Manav and Archana gets complicated once again but the scene is not explained well. It has ended over a text like a coward boyfriend/girlfriend who doesn't wish to face reality. The act is later justified but really, is it even justifiable?

Vivek Dahiya enters the show. While his poker face acting isn't exciting, his entry isn't something you see coming. He is a refreshing character to the otherwise pretentious series. There are many surprise packages featuring him courtesy of his character.

The show takes a hilarious dig at Koffee With Karan, one you do not see coming. The extra 'touches' (literally, the ones between Manav and Archana) give nothing but creep vibes. Bumping into each other everywhere was already creepy enough and this addition just takes the creepiness to a new level.

However, it is the bond between Manav and Archana that grows throughout the series. This bond is the 'Pavitra Rishta' people can only hope to have in today's times. It is so strong that it makes you want to see where their relationship is headed. Of course, all cards fall into place, right where they belong, giving you a sense of a happy ending.

Verdict:

Who doesn’t like a happy ending, especially for couples who wait for one another? Pavitra Rishta 2.0 season 2 leaves you with a smile but after a lot of cringe and senseless moments. Vivek Dahiya is a surprise package in this one
