Review:
Nenu Student Sir's story is penned by noted director Krishna Chaitanya and Raki Uppalapati has directed this film. The film has a concept of unclaimed bank accounts and scams associated with it. The idea of an innocent student getting associated with the scam is good but needed a solid screenplay to hold the attention of the audience which does not happen in Nenu Student Sir.
The film starts on a slow note and there are many silly scenes that showcase the hero's desperation to buy an iPhone. But as the bank scam and thrills are unleashed in a decent manner, the film holds our interest now and then. But the romantic track featuring the lead pair is quite boring and acts as a speed breaker in the proceedings.
It is only in the last half an hour that the film starts making sense as the bank scam is exposed in an interesting manner. The film lacks depth in the screenplay and the blame should go to director Raki who could have done a lot better to elevate the thrills in a gripping manner. There is no depth in the emotions as well. A young student going against the system in a few scenes is also shown in an illogical manner.
Bellamkonda Suresh is apt as an innocent youth but he looks way too naive for a person to handle such a big scam. Samuthirakani as Commissioner Arjun Vasudevan does justice to his role. Srikanth Iyengar is just okay. Sunil was good in his cameo.
Nenu Student Sir has music by Mahati Swara Sagar and the songs are hardly impressive. But his BGM was quite good. The production values, songs, and city visuals look neat in the film. Nenu Student Sir has a decent story but needed a better director and actor to create more impact on the audience but that does not happen as the film lands in no man's land.
Verdict
On the whole, Nenu Student Sir has a decent storyline but it lacks proper screenplay. A few scenes related to the banking scam in the last half an hour are good but the rest of the proceedings hardly impress and making this film a below-average watch this weekend.
