Moonwalk Review: Samir Kochhar, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Nidhi Singh's comedic chemistry lights up the tale of love and heist

Moonwalk Plot: JioCinema's latest series, Moonwalk stars Samir Kochhar, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Nidhi Singh in the lead roles. The story follows two rival thieves, Tarik Pandey (Anshuman Pushkar) and Maddy Kapoor (Samir Kochchar). They are competing to win over Chandini Lakhani (Nidhi Singh) as the latter gives them a challenge to steal the most expensive thing for her.

Moonwalk, the comedy series is directed by Ajay Bhuya. The plot shows Tarik Pandey (played by Anshumaan Pushkar), Rampur's thief, who steals precious things, and one of his famous moves while doing it is moonwalk. His comedic sense is top-notch and entertains with his charisma. On the other hand, we are introduced to another thief, Maddy Kapoor (Samir Kochhar). He is a Delhi crook and is quite notorious. 

Both of them have one dream girl and that is Chandni (played by Nidhi Singh). Both Maddy and Tarik share intimate moments with Chandni. However, Chandni can be seen asking Tarik to move on from their relationship while forging strong bond with Maddy. On the other hand, Maddy puts Chandni's phone on hold to talk to someone else. 

One day, the rivals face off against each other with Chandni in their presence. The moment they get angry with each other, Chandni gives them a challenge. She says that whoever steals the most precious thing for her, will win her love. The comedic chemistry shines in the series. In episode 9, we see Maddy behind bars with two more thieves as he talks with Tarik on the phone. When Maddy asks what he should steal, Tarik says 'Chandni ke liye chand ka tukda." In the end, Tarik also ends up in jail with Maddy. All these fights are to steal a moon rock.

Speaking about direction, Moonwalk has some excellent comedic sequences. However, some scenes feel needless and you can indeed skip them to get to the real point. While the filmmaker excels in creating individual memorable scenes, the show's overall pacing and coherence suffer.

Meanwhile, Samir Kochhar and Anshumaan Pushkar shine in their roles but sometimes fall short of their comedic chemistry. Nidhi Singh as Chandni was impressive. On the other hand, Sheeba Chaddha and Geetanjali Kulkarni are lovely in their supporting roles. 

Moonwalk Verdict

Moonwalk, starring Samir Kochhar, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Nidhi Singh, is a light-hearted comedy series about heist and love. Apart from their performances, the story writing is quite interesting. If we ignore the slow pacing, Moonwalk is a fun watch for a weekend binge plan.
