Mithya Season 2

Mithya - The Darker Chapter plot

ZEE5's (OTTPlay Premium) thriller series, Mithya - The Darker Chapter shows Juhi (played by Huma Qureshi) enjoying the success of her new book, Dhundh, but is immediately hit by accusations of plagiarism from another author, Amit Chaudhary (Naveen Kasturia). She goes through a lot of twists, plots, and secrets to save herself and her son, Yash, while Rhea (Avantika Dassani) continues to plot and game plan to be close to her father as she longs for her acceptance in the family.

Mithya - The Darker Chapter Review

The second season of Huma Qureshi's series is filled with lots of plots and twists that at one point, you feel lost. Mithya - The Darker Chapter begins with Huma confessing to her fans that her newly published book, Dhundh, is copied from an author, Amit Chaudhary's unpublished book. Then, the series goes into the backstory. It shows that she is enjoying the release of her book and at an event, Amit is present to claim the plot of the story of Dhundh, as his. During the book signing, Huma confronts Amit when the latter accuses her of plagiarism.

The plot that begins with the accusation of plagiarism ends up with Huma saving her son, Yash from Rhea (Juhi's step-sister), making the whole series incoherent and inconsistent.

The arrival of Rhea once again builds up tension in Juhi Adhikari's family. She tries her best to take revenge on Juhi as the latter once accused her of plagiarism and also made her suffer in jail because of the murder of Juhi's husband, Neil. Rhea goes all out to take Yash from Juhi and the plots she makes, are incoherent in one word. You will feel lost while trying to understand the whole process.

Amid this, Juhi's father, Anand Tyagi (Rajit Kapur), another famous author, goes to Amit to request him to withdraw the plagiarism allegations to save her daughter and take the blame on himself. During the conversation, Amit makes an audio record of Anand which he later sends to Juhi. This makes her confess through a Livestream on her social media account.

The livestream does not go well with the viewers, who troll Juhi. This messes up the whole Adhikari family. Later, Anand Tyagi meets Rhea, his daughter from another wife, and acknowledges her as his child and commits suicide like Rhea's mother.

The plagiarism case kind of gets shadowed by the next plot of Rhea trying to take hold of Yash. In the meantime, Yash gets kidnapped and the story feels disjointed. Juhi goes through a lot to save her son and also confronts some truths. A lot is going on with the narrative and there are some unfinished business and some new conflicts, and they rarely come together to make it a coherent watch.

The ending of the series hints at a probable Season 3 with more chaos and a flood of twists.

The new character, Amit Chaudhary (played by Naveen Kasturia) impresses with his acting skills. Huma reprises her role as Juhi and it is quite interesting, while Avantika as Rhea is evolving yet needs a lot of work. On the other hand, Rajit Kapur as Anand Tyagi is a perfect choice.

Mithya - The Darker Chapter Verdict

Mithya - The Darker Chapter, produced by Applause Entertainment, is filled with so many complex and incoherent plots that you feel lost at one point in time. It has many unnecessary cliffhangers that will destroy the curiosity. However, the 2nd season of Mithya also shows a mother's endless sacrifices to save her child which is somewhat impressive.
