Review:
Into the Wild with Bear Grylls is back with another nail-biting episode with Bollywood's action hero Ajay Devgn. The episode opens with a Bollywood-style welcome by Bear Grylls and the introduction of the Singham actor, sharing glimpses of his action roles with his popular dialogues, which only gets your expectations high. The show manages to meet your expectations and offers a sneak peek at the non-glamourous side of the actor.
The Singham actor is all smiles and looks enthu as he embarks on this adventure in the middle of the Indian ocean. He looks as eager as an innocent child. But soon enough, his eagerness turns into a wary and disgusted look as he tries feeding on raw fish that the two catch with a bucket they find on the deserted island. He looks cute as he tries to take up the challenge given by his wife to try eating with his hands. Bear shares a video of Kajol where she says that he has OCD about eating with his hands. It was also fun to see the daredevil of the Hindi film industry build a raft, fish trap and create an emergency sign for rescue.
The episode brings out the honest and raw personality of the actor. It out also shares a sneak peek of his personal life. It was fun to watch Devgn trying hard to recall how long he has been married to Kajol when Bear asks him about his marriage. The actor admitted feeling tired a couple of times in the show but was still motivated to go on. Bear talked about the potential dangers in the ocean with sharks larking in but the two seemed to have gotten lucky as they didn't really encounter any life-threatening situations due to the mammals. But they did have to pass through big powerful waves to get to a safe haven.
Shooting in the wild can be a huge challenge. The lines of Bear weren't well audible as he speaks while riding in the helicopter. But the camera shots and angles were impeccable and gets you to wonder how the crew managed to film the episode even in the toughest locations.
The episode is well-edited and is crisp with a fast-paced narrative but it only leaves you longing for more.
Verdict:
It brings a smile to your face when you hear Ajay being hopeful of reaching home again after spending a couple of hours in the no man's land in the middle of the deep blue seas. But the episode leaves you only hoping for more and craving to go on an adventure trip yourself.
