A scene from the show

In The Soop - Friendcation

Story: The real party starts as the two new members, Choi Woo-shik and Park Hyung-sik, join Peakboy, BTS’s V and Park Seo-joon. They spend the leisurely day sleeping, fishing, barbecuing and recapping their friendship that they started in 2018.

Review: Woo-shik and Hyung-sik get introduced to the tradition of uniforms of grey tracksuits and nicknames on the trip. BTS’s V gives a confused Woo-shik a quick tour of the house. Later, Woo-shik and Hyung-sik discover their steamed bun corner on the patio.

This episode primarily focuses on the reunification of all five of the Wooga Squad. They have everything that they need. After braving a choppy sea to enjoy boat fishing, all members end up catching a lot of halibuts. They gorge on the raw halibut – their fresh catch of the day.

Their activities on the second day also include hours at a warm swimming pool. The five friends chill at the pool. In fact, they get into a competition on who can hold their breath the longest underwater.

Like in the previous episode, Seo-joon continues to take charge of the kitchen. On their second night, they lay out an elaborate barbecue menu. In fact, we also got a hang of their post-dinner fun time last week in episode 1. The second episode focuses on their friendship and how they really meet. Amid the banter and jokes, their respect for each other's work becomes evident. Besides aurora fire – a special component to bring magical colours to the bonfire, the five of them also get nostalgic with a bunch of firecrackers. In fact, they seem so excited that they have managed to burn a hole in Woo-shik’s jacket.

Verdict: It is a leisurely watch. The five friends are insanely popular in Korean pop culture. They enjoy global acclaim. Watching them bantering, teasing each other and enjoying life on a reality show is a refreshing idea. It is a delight for a K-pop fan to watch this. Even for people who are new to the K-culture will be able to enjoy the show.
