Pavail Gulati, Saiyami Kher in Faadu: A Love Story

Story:

The series is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. It's about a man from the slums who spends his adult life trying to get out of the life he never wanted and into the life of luxury he's always wanted.

Review:

At the start of the show, two very different people are shown waiting for the results of their 12th-grade board exams. The show starts with Pavail Gulati as Abhay Dubey, who lives in the slums of Mumbai with his bedridden mother, his drunk brother, and his father, who drives an autorickshaw and can't help his family. He decides to go to college as soon as his 12th-grade board results come out, but he has always known that formal education won't help him live the luxurious life he has always wanted. Meanwhile, he finds the love of his life, Manjari (Saiyami Kher), who fell for him as well in their second meeting in literature. That's where this Faadu love story begins.

Gulati's class performance is highlighted in the first episode. Throughout the show, the actor shines as he goes deep into this character and his journey, which includes a rise, a fall, the greatest love, a breakup, hard times, and more.

Gulati wins the audience with a sudden urgency that his character carries all over the show except at the end, where he seems calm and peaceful.

Another character that wins hearts is Abhilash Thapliyal's Roxy, Abhay's elder brother. The actor portrays the role of a drunk so well that you forget that it's an actor playing a character. Even though most of the show shows him as a helpless character, Roxy steps up to the challenge and becomes a completely different person. He also inspires his younger brother to do the same.

Meanwhile, Saiyami Kher as Manjari is the woman everyone wishes to have in their lives. Manjari is patient, and the most understanding woman ever in Abhay's life. The actor's calm performance is what draws the audience's attention to her role.

Apart from the three actors, a few supporting actors also seize a few moments in the show. Girish Oak, Deepak Sampat, and Dayashankar Pandey are a few of those actors who keep the show going along with the pivotal actors.

The story of this SonyLIV show is written by Saumya Joshi. Even though the actors in the series do a great job, the script seems to have some problems, especially in the middle. The show seems to be going haywire and getting dragged out with a few unnecessary plots. However, it picks up the pace towards the end.

Meanwhile, Tiwari's vision of displaying the reality of two different worlds and how they function to continue living their opposite lives is realized.

Faadu: The Love Story is more than just a love story; it is about what happens in the lives of two people who are completely different but still in love. The show is like a poem created by Tiwari and well-illustrated by Gulati and Kher on screen. The chemistry between both actors is as honest as it should be in a real-life couple.

Verdict:

Even being a little flawed in the middle, the show keeps you hooked to the screen due to some powerhouse performances as well as genuine and captivating visuals. SonyLIV's Faadu: The Love Story is a must-watch.
