Delhi Khabbar series review: Adeeb Rias makes an honest attempt but it isn't up to the mark

So much keeps happening in Delhi Khabbar and it was a simple tale which has been stretched for six episodes. Despite it all, this one barely manages to capture your attention too.

Story:

Ariana (Madhussneha) is hiding a secret from her college friends (and foes). Someone is using the secret to blackmail her. Can she find out who it is?

Review:

Adeeb Rias’ webs series Delhi Khabbar has started streaming on MX Player. The show is another college thriller which could have turned into something worth watching but ends up being predictable but trippy.

Delhi Khabbar has an abrupt beginning. However, it soon gets in the groove. Adeeb Rais takes the lead immediately as Sahil. He almost shines throughout the series.

Ariana Rai Singhania (Madhussneha) is the hot topic in Delhi High. She is the talk of the town even before appearing. However, she turns out to be simply okay.

Sheeba Chaddha makes an appearance in the series. She is her normal self in the series. There's nothing surprising about her in this show.

Neha Kanwar as Natasha tries to make an impact but only succeeds fairly. She is the typical snob who barely has an impressive side to her.

Puneet Brar plays a brat named Ritika who flirts with her professor, who is the only male in a classroom where the majority are girls. She is one character to look out for.

Faizan Mir as Shaurya tries to fit in but barely does. He is the troublemaker you don't really care about.

The songs in this series are unnecessary and abrupt. They are a distraction to the story and more.

Aish Karo simply appears to be a combination of many Bollywood songs, at least in terms of visuals. Actually, most songs will take you back to a track you have seen before but like we mentioned, they barely help the story move forward and are mostly a distraction.

Vikas Kumar is also seen in the series and while he doesn't come as much a surprise, this actor is a delight to watch. He has a comparatively newer role, which works in his favour.

The story of the show is age-old and the execution isn't up to the mark either. However, the love stories are quite heartwarming.

Delhi Khabbar is one of those shows you would want to watch after getting high. It is that trippy.

Susana Joseph Mukherjee's introduction, especially when she has just died, is nothing but offensive. Why are college girls limited to bikini bodies, especially for an introduction scene?

After one point, the show is shot in such darkness that you literally cannot figure anything. This just not only happen once and it is very tough to follow a show which anyway captures your attention in minimal amounts.

There is a mystery to the show, which, to the point it becomes a mystery, you are barely interested in the series anymore. Of course, what you thought is a mystery, is actually quite predictable.

Verdict:

Delhi Khabbar tries to hook you in bits-and-pieces but mostly fails. The suspense comes towards the end of the show and even in that, most can probably guess the twist (which isn't such a big surprise since the character was already unsure about the one person). Thus, this show is not one you would want to watch, especially when sober.
