Review
A bunch of friends trying to uncover the real truth behind the disappearance of one of their members sounds interesting however the makers and the writers have managed to knit a perfectly shallow, laughably hole-y plot and it’s drowned in inane attempts to create funny subplots and moments. Apart from a few flashes of lush green locations and a hummable opening song, there’s absolutely nothing I want to remember. Even if you start watching with zero expectations this film has all the talent to disappoint you because the characters just keep changing locations but nothing substantial happens. It’s not even deliciously awful. Some of the actors are pretty well-known faces, but it’s an opportunity wasted beyond comprehension. Koushik Roy is a very popular tv star and he is also known for his astonishing performance in the Hoichoi series, Taranath Trantik, which was directed by Q. Arindol Bagchi has delivered memorable performances in films like The Japanese Wife, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, Chittagong and many more. Here he plays a tongue-in-cheek driver Pulak Patra and is a royal misuse. Debesh Roychoudhury who played the main villain Jagdish Prasad is also a colossal waste of resources. Roychoudhury is a powerhouse performer who shook the screen with the hissing, cunning shadow of a bad man in Mandaar. The rest of the cast members tried to deliver laughable dialogues with wooden performances and they are proportionally backed by shoddy production values. It’s a fatally misdirected venture.
Joydip Mukherjee wrote the story and script while the dialogues are penned by Abhirup Bandyopadhyay. Chitrabhanu Ghosh and Shashanka Palit co-directed the film. Saikat Bandopadhay scored the songs, wrote the lyrics and crooned it himself.
Verdict
It can work as crucial sleep support and do watch it for insomnia-related issues.
