Siddhanth Kapoor could not show his equally charming side as Abhimanyu Singh did in season 1 of Bhaukaal and thus, the second season belongs to Mohit Raina and him alone.
Bhaukaal
Story:
After killing Shaukeen, SSP Navniet Sekera is on a mission to end the rule of Dedha brothers. The task is not going to be easy and there will be a lot of bloodshed. In the end, how will Navniet get a hold of the Dedha brothers and what happens after he does?
Review:
Bhaukaal season 2 is here and with that, Mohit Raina is back! In this series, you will miss everything that Abhimanyu Singh's Shaukeen brought on the table with the first season. You will also miss Sunny Hinduja's Farukh Qureshi but the season is a decent watch nonetheless.
The second season begins where the first ended. The cliffhanger moment is here and it is unlike what you would have expected.
Siddhanth Kapoor as Chintu Dedha is hilarious as always. Same is the case with Mohit as SSP Navniet Sekera.
Pradeep Nagar as Pintu Dedha is equally impressive. Bidita Bag, like the previous season, tries to be a badass but succeeds only partially.
The dialogues are as powerful this time too. It is almost as entertaining as the first installment. With the hot-tempered Dedha brothers, the violence is at a mad extent this time around. All we can say is, nobody can keep calm.
There is a shocking news in the first episode itself. It makes you intrigued to watch what is coming ahead, in the upcoming episodes.
A thing you would have expected in season 1 actually happens in season 2. The scene comes as no surprise and thus, takes the series down a notch.
The tagline, "Ab shaanti nahi, sarvanaash hoga," is explained and there is a Mahabharata connection. That scene tries to give you goosebumps but succeeds partially.
The plot moves slowly mid-way. Shaukeen-type personality is missing in the series and thus, it is minus the entertainment and smart-mind in one.
The camera angles are quite weird this time. There is a scene where the focus are only on the eyes. However, since it has some powerful dialoguebaazi, one would expect to see facial expressions rather than only the eyes. Thus, it makes you wonder what the makers were thinking while shooting this particular scene.
Bidita Bag (Naaz), who is one of the lead female actors in the series (possibly the biggest one) proves why women can be the best at everything they do. She has a sixth sense due to which the character manages to escape death numerous times and show people why she deserves a spot at the top when it comes to business.
The show has an erotic scene and somehow, the makers managed to make it relevant to the plot. It was to make the viewers understand the mentality of the person/people involved.
The climax scene is almost fitting for this part. However, Bhaukaal 2 in itself is very little like Bhaukaal since the antagonist this time is hyper rather than calm and badass like Shaukeen.
It is honestly Mohit Raina's show this time around, for his tactics while fighting are heroic and that is a tale people need to know and remember. It appears that the story has come to an end with the second season, which is quite sad since the DSP surely would have solved many more crimes throughout his career apart from taking out Shaukeen and Dedha brothers.
Verdict:
Bhaukaal 2 is entertaining but not as much as the first season. However, it is not a series you should miss because of that reason. The story of DSP (then SSP) Navniet Sekera is something you deserve to watch and thus, Bhaukaal 2 is recommended.
