Beautiful Billo review: Neeru Bajwa's film is full of cliches

Neeru Bajwa.

Beautiful Billo

Story:

A pregnant Billo (Neeru Bajwa) is living in Europe illegally. She ends up in Sonika (Rubina Bajwa) and Navi (Roshan Prince)'s house. Of course, Sonika is not too open to the idea and so, expect a ride full of misunderstandings and chaos.

Review:

Beautiful Billo begins as the cliched story - where the actress is upset with her in-laws. Producer Neeru Bajwa's sister Rubina is introduced with Roshan Prince in the movie in a brief scene followed by a song.

Rubina's Sonika barely manages to hold your interest despite her strong personality. The same can be said for Roshan's Navi, who is, no surprise, sandwiched between the women in this film.

As always, the film is set in a foreign country. There is a reason for that but even that reason is ancient to capture your attention.

A very pregnant Neeru appears soon after in the form of the lead, Billo. She has a mystery to her which does not capture all your attention either. This one is also your typical Punjabi kudi who does not wish to bend according to society's norms but is good at heart.

The movie tries to be funny but fails miserably. There is absolutely nothing that keeps your interest intact - not even the bhabhi love.

The ending of the film also appears forced. The title plug in seemed too artificial and just didn't fit in the scene.

Verdict:

Beautiful Billo might have been an experiment but it didn't work too well. The film is full of cliches and despite the tried-and-tested methods, this one fails to have your attention. Stay away from this movie.
