Dulquer Salmaan, the son of Malayalam screen legend Mammootty, made his film debut with the 2012 crime drama Second Show and later that year he appeared in Ustad Hotel. And he garnered praise for both movies. He also showcased his singing skills as he made his singing debut in the 2013 movie ABCD. He also appeared in the road movie Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi directed by Sameer Thahir.
The 2014 blockbuster hit movie Bangalore Days starred Dulquer alongside Nivin Pauly, Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim in the lead roles. The movie along with the 2016 Tamil movie O Kadhal Kanmani helped him become an established star.
He has also appeared in Telugu and Hindi movies. The 2021 Malayalam crime drama Kurup starred DQ in the lead role and is the highest-grossing film of his career. The gangster action drama movie King of Kotha releases on August 24th 2023.
