Rajinikanth celebrates his 73rd birthday on December 12th
Rajinikanth's unique and charismatic screen presence, captivating style, and powerful performances has made him a household name across India. Renowned for his action roles, where he often defies the laws of physics and showcases superhuman abilities, Rajnikanth has cemented his larger-than-life persona over the years.
Throughout his illustrious career, Rajinikanth has starred in numerous blockbusters, including Moondru Mugam (1982), Thalapathi (1991), Baasha (1995), Padayappa (1999), and the science fiction thrillers Enthiran (2010) and its sequel 2.0 (2018). He has also worked in Hindi cinema and collaborated with renowned directors such as K. Balachander and Mani Ratnam.
The Government of India recognised Rajinikanth's contributions to Indian cinema by awarding him the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016, two of the country's highest civilian honours. In 2019, he was bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest accolade in Indian cinema, solidifying his legendary status.
