The Sound of Magic is dropping on Netflix on May 6, 2022.
In April 2021, Netflix announced that the original series The Sound of Magic based on the popular webtoon Annarasumanara, would be produced. The Sound of Magic, directed by Kim Sung-youn, is a heartwarming drama about Yoon Ah-yi, a girl who had to grow up too quickly, and Rieul, a mysterious magician who, despite his age, wanted to stay a child.

Kim Sung-youn, whose superb storytelling talents were demonstrated in the successful series Itaewon Class directs The Sound of Magic. He's reunited with Kim Min Jeong, the writer who collaborated with him on Love in the Moonlight.
Ji Chang-wook, Choi Sung-eun, and Hwang In-youp headline a star-studded cast for the series' lead roles.
Ji Chang-wook plays Rieul, a mystery magician who resides in an abandoned amusement park. Ji starred in Netflix's Lovestruck in the City which was released worldwide. His performances in a variety of genres (Backstreet Rookie, Healer) have wowed Korean content fans, establishing him as a Hallyu superstar. Ji masterfully balances his character Rieul's childish innocence and arrogant swagger.
Choi Sung-eun, who collaborates closely with Ji Chang-wook, plays Yoon Ah-yi. Her previous roles as a notable newbie included the drama SF8: Joan's Galaxy and the 2019 film Start-Up. Viewers are eager to see how she portrays Yoon Ah-yi, a young woman dealing with the harsh realities of life who meets the mysterious Rieul and discovers a realm beyond her wildest dreams.
Hwang In-youp, a rising star, plays Yoon Ah-classmate Yi's Na Il-deung. In True Beauty, 18 Again and The Tale of Nokdu, Hwang has played charming and handsome, but coldly detached characters. His character, Na Il-deung, is a bright student who struggles to get along with others. Na Il-deung's life gradually changes as Yoon Ah-yi and Rieul introduce him to the magical world of magic.
