Ahead of its OTT release, Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has been banned in Singapore.
Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files caused a stir in India. The film broke Box Office records when it released. However, since the film touches upon a sensitive topic, it has released in some places and been banned in others. Here’s all we know so far…,
Back when The Kashmir Files released in India, the movie started a movement of sorts. It beat even Akshay Kumar’s movie Bachchhan Paandey at the Box Office. The movie slowed down the business for many with its successful run.
While The Kashmir Files released worldwide, a few countries hesitated to release the movie. UAE was among one of them. The film released there a month after The Kashmir Files’ Indian theatrical release. The film released in UAE on April 7 without any cuts.
Singapore had also banned The Kashmir Files. It still has, stating that the film could cause enmity between communities.
Vivek’s film released in Israel on April 28. The filmmaker said that his movie was in huge demand there and so, it released in Israel.
There is no confirmed news on this but considering that a few places have banned The Kashmir Files, the movie might not release there even on OTT. The Kashmir Files, starring Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi and Mithun Chakraborty among others, will release on Zee5 on May 13.
