Stranger Things' characters then and now!

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine star in Stranger Things. Noah Schnapp and Joe Keery were recurring characters in the first season before being promoted to the main cast in the second, which also included Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, Sean Astin, and Paul Reiser. In the third season, Maya Hawke joined the cast, and Priah Ferguson was elevated to the main role. In the second and third seasons, Brett Gelman had recurring roles before being promoted to the main cast in the fourth.

Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson

Dustin Henderson, played by Gaten Matarazzo, is a quirky and quick-witted youngster with cleidocranial dysplasia who lisps. He is a buddy of Mike, Will, and Lucas. Dustin is the bard in the Dungeons & Dragons group, and he undoubtedly has the most extensive understanding of the game, particularly the creatures. He has a thing for Nancy, and even though both he and Lucas have affections for Max in Series 2, Max and Lucas end up together in the end. He also befriends Steve, who advises him on how to attract attractive women.

Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven

Millie Bobby Brown plays Eleven, a telekinetic child who is the only one who can defeat the horrors of the Upside Down. Because of her powers, she was raised and experimented on at the Hawkins Lab. Eleven is befriended by Mike, Dustin, and Lucas after her escape at the start of Series One, and they feel she can assist them in finding Will. She is the mage in the Dungeons and Dragons party. She spends the first series hiding and running from the "evil men," who are the lab personnel. She vanishes after fighting the demogorgon in the first season's finale.

Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair

Caleb McLaughlin plays Lucas Charles Sinclair, a friend of Mike, Will, and Dustin, as well as Erica's elder brother. At first, Lucas is sceptical of Eleven, but later befriends her.

Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield

Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler

Finn Wolfhard's character Michael "Mike" Wheeler is the son of Karen and Ted, the younger brother of Nancy and the older brother of Holly, and a friend of Lucas, Dustin, and Will. Mike is a bright and responsible student who cares about Lucas, Dustin, and Will. Mike is the paladin in their Dungeons and Dragons party, and he frequently plays the position of dungeon master. He seemed to be falling for Eleven. He, on the other hand, is continually yelling at her and disregarding her.

Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler

Nancy Wheeler, played by Natalia Dyer, is the older sister of Mike and Holly and the daughter of Karen and Ted. Nancy is an outsider at school until Steve Harrington becomes interested in her. Their romance lasts until the start of series two when she begins dating Jonathan with Murray's help. Despite an obvious lack of training and practice, she is an expert with guns. Pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns have all been observed in her possession.

Joe Keery as Steve Harrington

Joe Keery's character, Steve Harrington, often known as "The Hair," is a popular student at school. He tries to form a friendship with Nancy and humiliates Jonathan, but he later regrets it., ,Keery was promoted to series regular after recurring in the first season. Steve soon took on a larger role, building a brotherly bond with Dustin and serving as a guardian for the core group of children. Jonathan created "the bat," a baseball bat with numerous huge nails put into the head that Jonathan created to combat the Demogorgon. While it had little long-term effect on the Demogorgon, it did manage to kill a few Demo-Dogs.,

Noah Schnapp as Will Byers

William "Will" Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, is a meek, polite, and often timid youngster who is Jonathan's younger brother and Joyce's son. Will is the cleric in the group's Dungeons & Dragons party, but he also serves as the Dungeon Master on occasion; he is known as "Will the Wise." After encountering the creature that fled through a rift to the "Upside Down," an alternate reality discovered by Hawkins Laboratory scientists, he vanishes somewhere near "Mirkwood" in season one. Schnapp was promoted to series regular after recurring in the first season.
