June is packed with some highly-anticipated releases on OTTs and theatres including CBI 5: The Brain, Prakashan Parakatte and Thuramukham
While the first week of June didn’t see any big Malayalam release due to Kamal Haasan’s Vikram hitting theatres, the next three weeks will see a deluge of some highly anticipated films including Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kaduva, Nivin Pauly’s Thuramukham and Tovino Thomas’ Dear Friend and Vaashi in theatres while Innale Vare and CBI 5: The Brain will hit OTT platforms. Asif Ali and Antony Varghese will make their OTT debuts with this Jis Joy thriller, which is set to release on Sony LIV. The movie, also starring Nimisha Sajayan and Reba Monica John, has Asif playing an actor.Release date: June 9,
Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Darshana Rajendaran, Sanchana Natarajan, Arjun Radhakrishnan and Arjun Lal star in this mystery drama, revolving around a group of friends planning a start-up in Bengaluru.Release date: June 10,
Rajeev Ravi’s period drama, which has Nivin Pauly, Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, Poornima Indrajith and Indrajith Sukumaran, revolves around the chappa system that was practiced in the early to mid 1900s at Cochin Harbour.Release date: June 10 (tentative),
The light-hearted cop drama has Krishna Sankar, Murali Gopy, Sharafudheen, Indrans and Renji Panicker as part of the cast. Krishna plays a police constable who gets the job after the death of his father in the movie directed by Shyam Mohan.Release date: June 10,
Thaneer Mathan Dinangal co-writer Dinoy Paulose turns hero in this quirky comedy, about a father and his three wayward sons. The film, which will drop on ZEE5, also has Naslen, Sharafudheen and Grace Antony in cameo roles.Release date: June 10,
Mammootty’s fifth film, which will drop on Netflix, as the iconic sleuth CBI Sethurama Iyer CBI will have him cracking his toughest case yet. The mvoie, which features new members to the team such as Ramesh Pisharody and Renji Panicker, also has a host of actors including Jagathy reprising their roles.Release date: June 12,
Mathew Thomas and Dileesh Pothan play son and father in this coming-of-age comedy entertainer about a teenager who years to leave his village to start his life. The film, which is written by Dhyan Sreenivasan, also has Aju Varghese and Saiju Kurup in pivotal roles.Release date: June 17,
Arun Chandu much-delayed directorial finally hits theatres this month. The socio-political satire, starring Dhyan Sreenivasan and Gokul Suresh, reportedly revolves around the life of an actor and his role in a government institution.Release date: June 24,
Dev Mohan’s theatrical debut Panthrand, which is musical thriller-drama, has him in the role of an oud player.
