Jitendra Kumar is playing the protagonist Abhishek Tripathi, who is working as a Panchayat Secretary and also preparing for a competitive exam to get out of this unwilling job.

Neena Gupta as Manju Devi
Neena Gupta's Manju Devi is the so-called Pradhan of the Phulera, however, she doesn't perform her duty as one. And instead of her, her husband is called Pradhan because he acts as the head of the village.
