Journey from Swapnil to Saisha,Saisha Shinde is known for being the first transgender fashion designer in India. The designer's journey through gender dysphoria has had many ups and downs. Saisha was born as a male, Swapnil but has never been comfortable with her gender. After a few therapy sessions, she realised that she is a trans woman. She decided to undergo physical transformation during the lockdown. The process of shifting is "vital and necessary," according to the celebrity designer.

Fashion Career,Completing internships as a sales boy at Mumbai's Kimaya Fashion Store, Saisha made her debut as a fashion designer as part of the next gen class during the 2006 Lakme Fashion Week. Swapnil Shinde founded her own fashion line. Saisha created the outfit worn by Indian model Harnazz Kaur Sandhu (Miss Universe 2021).

TV Career,She was a competitor on Season 14 of the popular American television programme "Project Runway" in 2015. She is currently a participant on the reality show Lock Upp which is hosted by Kangana Ranaut and produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Struggles to establish her identity,While her family and friends were supportive of her decision, Saisha struggled to find her identity as a transwoman. During the Lock Upp premiere, she stated that it was tough for her to gain identity as a transwoman in society, and that without identity, everything in life is difficult. She noted that getting simple things done, such as locating a residence for herself and obtaining her Aadhar card, has been difficult.

Commitment to help the trans community,As the reality show Lockupp is nearing its grand finale, Saisha was seen recently in a teaser saying that whatever amount she receives from the show, 50 per cent of it will be donated for the welfare of the trans community.
