He and his wife are one of the power couples in the industry and his daughter Shriya is also a talented actress who is making a name for herself in the digital space. Sachin’s early life
The actor was born in Mumbai in a Brahmin family from Pilagaon, Goa. He hails from a family that already had a film background. His father Sharad Pilgaonkar was a film producer, and also managed a printing press in Mumbai.

Sachin’s career as a child actor
He made his acting debut as a child in the Marathi film Ha Majha Marg Ekla (1962), he went on to work in around 65 films as a child artist, before switching to adult roles. He has been a part of highly successful films like Geet Gaata Chal (1975) and Nadiya Ke Paar(1982) among others.

Entry into television
Sachin started his career as a director on television with the comedy show Tu Tu Main Main. It aired on Star Plus and featured his wife Supriya, along with Reema Lagoo. He has also anchored Hindi music shows like Chalti Ka Naam Antakshari on Star Plus. He soon became a popular household name across India not only in Marathi cinema. He then featured with his wife Supriya in Nach Baliye in 2006. He was also a judge on the comedy talent show Chhote Miyan in 2009 on Colors TV.

His accolades
Sachin won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for Ha Maza Marg Ekla in 1962 and for Ajab Tuje Sarkar in 1971 again for Best Child Artist. He then bagged two Filmfare awards in 1978 and 2016 for best Actor in Marathi cinema.

Sachin is married to a popular television star Supriya Pilgaonkar. The couple met when Sachin had directed Supriya for his debut Marathi film Navri Mile Navryala (1984).
