Vijayanand, the biopic of VRL Ltd founder Padma Shri Vijay Sankeshwar, opened in theatres today. The team organized a celebrity premiere for the film. While most of the cast, except veteran actor Anant Nag, was in attendance, several of their friends from the industry also turned up.
Vijayanand, the biopic of Karnataka-based entrepreneur Vijay Sankeshwar is currently in theatres. The team had a star-studded premiere on Thursday night and here's all the action from the evening.
Vijayanand is Rishika Sharma's second directorial. In an emotional social media post she wrote, "The detachment day 🥹Feels so heavy to realise that the movie I have travelled with for last 820 odd days quoted to be ‘1st ever COMMERCIAL BIOPIC’ from KFI - on legendary Namma kannadigaru #Vijaysankeshwar sir has now paved its way to silver screen.",
Siri plays Lalitha Sankeshwar, Vijay's wife in the film. The real-life Vijay has often been quoted as saying that he credits much of his success to the unwavering support of family, especially his wife, Lalitha.
Bharath Bopanna and Archana Kottige are paired in the film as Mr and Mrs Anand Sankeshwar. The film is narrated from Anand's perspective of what his father went through in building their empire.
Back in 2014, Ashika Ranganath, Siri Prahlad and Rashmika Mandanna were city finalists of a talent hunt for collegians held by an English daily. The Vijayanand premiere was a reunion of sorts for Ashika and Siri.
Actors Kushee Ravi and Vivek Simha, who will soon be seen in the campus horror thriller Spooky College, were at the premiere. Their film is likely to hit theatres on December 16, having been pushed ahead from its earlier November 25 date.
The model-turned-actress was one of the celebrity guests at the grand premiere on Thursday evening.
Edegaarike and Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu maker Sumana Kittur, who is rarely seen at public events like movie premieres, took time out to support and celebrate a fellow woman director, Rishika Sharma.
Close friends Shine Shetty and Chandu Gowda were also at the premiere. While Shine has a role in the film, Chandu, who replaced the former in Laxmi Baramma, came to cheer for his friend.
