Ziddi Dil Maane Na: Here’s why fans are threatening to boycott the SonyLIV show

Ziddi Dil Maane Na hit screens last year, and it has been going strong ever since. Shaleen Malhotra stars on the show, the actor gaining popularity among fans for essaying the role of the titular protagonist on the action crime series, Arjun. Malhotra’s performance on Ziddi Dil Maane Na, where he plays agent Karan Shergill, too earned him adoration among fans. But then why did calls from fans emerge for boycotting the show then?

Reportedly, a rumour about the show started to float, regarding the fate of Malhotra’s character. It was being speculated that Malhotra would soon leave the show, and his character would be killed off. Although the reports have not been confirmed as yet, fans did not take well to the news.

A video, credited to FilmiBeat, also started to make the rounds on social media, in which Malhotra’s character is seen along with his love interest Monami, played by Kaveri Priyam. They are seen lying in the midst of rubble, with Malhotra lying in Priyam’s lap, and the former’s hand drops suddenly. Many have claimed that this is the scene where Malhotra’s character dies.

Fans took to Twitter to make known their displeasure about the rumours. The video seemed to have made many fans emotional about the thought of their beloved protagonist’s end. Users reacted strongly, some hoping that the rumours were not true, while others declared that they would stop watching the show if Malhotra left. Many were also frustrated by the fact that Malhotra’s departure would put an end to Karan and Monami’s love story.

The series also features Kunal Karan Kapoor, Diljot Kaur Chhabra, Aditya Deshmukh and Simple Kaul.
