The veteran actress Zeenat Aman wrote a heartfelt post on social media extending her solidarity to the victims of ongoing Israel-Palestine war
Even though the veteran actress Zeenat Aman had taken a sabbatical of sorts from the showbiz industry, the fact is that she still remains the fearless person who doesn’t think twice before calling a spade a spade. The good news is that the veteran actress is now all set to make a comeback of sorts in Bollywood with Manish Malhotra’s film ‘Bun Tikki’.
Today, the ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ actress took to social media and wrote an extremely heartfelt post about the victims of ongoing Israel-Palestine war. The actress, after captioning the post as 'A personal note on current events', wrote, that, as a public personality whose job depends on mass appeal, she had always been wary of commenting on politics and religion and that she was acutely aware that sharing an opinion on such matters could inflame public emotion. Further, she wrote that she acknowledged her own lack of expertise in these arenas and that she was completely capable of recognising human rights violations when she saw them.
Zeenat Aman added, "The painful, near unbearable, visuals emerging from Palestine and Israel these past few days have compelled me to write this note. I cannot in good conscience remain silent at such a time. I stand with the international community that is calling for an immediate ceasefire, access to relief and necessary amenities for the besieged citizens of Palestine, the release of hostages, and a bringing to account of those who oppress, and unleash, violence against civilians of any race and religion."
The actress continued stating that, she was referring to the blood of the innocent children killed and injured in the devastating and ongoing attacks should be weighing heavy on us all and that there was no justification for such barbarity, and also that we must not be mere spectators to it. She said that she was sending her solidarity to friends across the world, who had risen above the narrow borders of race, religion and state to embrace ideals of justice, peace, and freedom.
As for her comeback film ‘Bun Tikki’, it is being directed by Faraz Arif Ansari. Besides Zeenat Aman, the film also stars Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol.
