The Broken News Season 2 posters.
In the newly released series The Broken News Season 2, we see two news channels having opposing principles that lead to a fierce rivalry. The runners of the news channels accuse each other on various grounds thereby fueling the global problems. Throwing light on the series is actor Akshay Oberoi who shared how he feels to be a part of the series, especially in the world of OTT-driven content.
Akshay Oberoi, at first, talked about the character in the series. He said, “There’s a lot more than what meets the… You know, the face. There’s a lot, there’s a twist. This character is a very interesting part.”
He later expressed that OTT platforms have brought him closer to his fans and well-wishers. The Fighter actor expressed that he was often considered an outsider in the industry despite belonging to the Oberoi family.
“I would not have been in a fighter if I didn’t have the OTT. You know, I think the OTT made it more… sort of plot meritocracy into the industry. Before that, it was who do you know, who, which parties do you attend? Are you in the cool crowd? And I was never in the cool crowd. I was always sort of an outsider. The OTT brought me in. And people started taking notice. I thought this was good acting. And then I got a film like Fighter. It puts you on the map. So, you know, it’s been great for me,” he said.
Sonali Bendre and Jaideep Ahlawat star in this show, and they are just incredible. Continuing seamlessly from its previous season, Season 2 of The Broken News offers a familiar landscape: rival TV networks 'Awaaz Bharti' and 'Josh 24/7' locked in fierce competition to capture breaking news, individuals bustling with notebooks in hand—whether in meetings or pacing across the newsroom—and dubious proprietors striking clandestine deals with even shadier politicians. Watch this series anytime on ZEE5.
