In case you are unaware, years ago, reportedly in 2013, Zac Efron suffered an accident at his home when he was running in his socks and slipped and caught his face on the granite of a fountain. As per Men's Health, the collision was so bad that he was left unconscious, and when he woke up, his chin bone was hanging off of his face. It was in an Entertainment Tonight interview where the actor recalled the accident in 2022 while promoting The Iron Claw and said that he almost died in that accident. “It was funny,” he said. “It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.”

While talking to Men's Health about the accident and the internet discourse around him allegedly opting for plastic surgery to make his jawline look bigger, he revealed his journey with physical therapy. He said he was still recovering from the accident and that he was undergoing physical therapy. But he had to stop it since he was shooting for Netflix’s Down To Earth With Zac Efron in Australia. As a result, certain muscles in his face become enlarged as they compensate for the other muscles that are recovering from the injury. “The masseters just grew,” he told Men’s Health. “They just got really, really big.”
