Yuva Rajkumar all set for his next film

A few days ago, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar had confirmed that her maiden venture as the head of PRK Productions is going to be her nephew Yuva Rajkumar’s second film. So far, all the films that PRK Productions has bankrolled had all been greenlit when Puneeth was still around and #Yuva02, as the film is currently called, is the first that she’s okayed. The film, according to reports will be called Ekka Raja Rani, and will have KRG Studios collaborate with PRK Productions.

#Yuva02: Yuva Rajkumar’s second film with THIS director?

The film will officially be announced on the occasion of Ayudha Puja on October 11 at 9.59 am, and while this is likely to be a confirmation of what’s been widely speculated - that Rathnan Prapancha and Uttarakaanda director Rohit Padakki will helm the project – fans are also hopeful that the leading lady is also announced shortly. Sapta Sagaradaache Ello fame Rukmini Vasanth is the frontrunner as the potential leading lady, with Ondu Sarala Prema Kathe’s Swathishta Krishnan also a supposed contender.

Yuva Rajkumar’s launch by Hombale Films did not give the actor’s career the right boost, with the Santhosh Ananddram directorial opening to mixed reviews. While Yuva’s dance and fight skills received praise, audiences felt that he had miles to go as far as emotive scenes go. It didn’t help that the film’s story was not strong and left a lot to be desired.

Given that Yuva is being prepped us as the rightful successor to the throne vacated by Puneeth, the family will now rally together to give him a film that will propel him in the right direction. The actor was supposed to debut with Yuvaranadheera Kanteerava, a period film for which a first look teaser was shot, but the project was eventually called off, after which Hombale Films stepped in to take on the responsibility of launching Raghavendra Rajkumar’s younger son.
