Previously, reports claimed that Rukmini Vasanth would play the female lead
Looks like the hunt for the lead actress of Yuva Rajkumar's debut film, Yuva is finally over. Not very long ago, reports claiming that Rukmini Vasanth had been in talks with the makers had emerged on the internet but it soon came to light that the Sapta Sagaradaache Ello wasn't approached, after all. Fans and Kannada cinema patrons have been curious ever since to know who Yuva Rajkumar would be paired with and well, we do have the answer now.
Earlier today, on March 6th, Hombale Films' official Twitter dropped a sudden note and urged all their followers to 'stay tuned' for an exciting update concerning Yuva. 'Get ready to watch her light up the big screen,' read the tweet and it did not much to guess that they were, quite indeed, referring to the female lead of the project. Turns out, it is the Kantara girl Sapthami Gowda who will be lighting up the screen and accompanying the young Yuva Rajkumar in his pursuits.
"Get ready to witness the magic of the graceful @gowda_sapthami once again! With her raw talent and dedication to the craft, we knew she was the perfect fit for Yuva" read the tweet that made the big reveal.
Many would already know that Sapthami Gowda became a part of the Hombale family through Kantara, a film that not only demolished box office records but also catapulted Sapthami to nationwide prominence. Cashing that in, she went on to sign her debut Hindi project The Vaccine War which is being directed by Vivek Agnihotri of The Kashmir Files fame.
Sapthami is also part of S. Krishna's Kaali which also stars Abishek Ambareesh in the lead.
As far as her casting in Yuva is concerned, netizens seem quite chuffed about the fact that the makers have roped in a Kannadathi to play the lead. A few reckoned that the team could have opted for someone like Ashika Ranganath or even a fresh face but Sapthami's inclusion has garnered a positive response, overall.
Santhosh Ananddram will be directing Yuva with Ajaneesh B. Loknath scoring the music.
