Ekka is an action-packed commercial drama, directed by Rohit Padaki and produced by PRK Productions, KRG Studios, and Jayanna Films.
Yuva Rajkumar’s second film is officially on floors as of November 28. The film, directed by Rathnan Prapancha maker Rohit Padaki, which is being produced by three banners together – PRK Productions, KRG Studios, and Jayanna Films – will be shot in one schedule, with the makers announcing that the aim is to have it in theatres on June 6, 2025.
Rohit has been quoted as saying that like Rathnan Prapancha, Ekka’s core also revolves around self-discovery, with its highlight being that it is a perfect mix of content and commercial aspects. Speaking at the muhurta, producer Jayanna explained that the film kicks off in Kashmir and then travels to Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and back to Kashmir, with some portions to be shot in a rural area as well.
#Yuva02: Yuva Rajkumar’s second film with THIS director?
The film will pair Yuva with Sampada Hulivana, who according to director Rohit, is perfect for the role. Details of the rest of the cast will be announced in due course of time. The film’s crew includes Maasthi for dialogues, Charanraj for music, and Shivkumar for art design, with Satya Hegde filling in as cinematographer.
Although Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar was gearing up to produce Yuva’s second film, everything fell into place quickly, when KRG Studios’ under-production Uttarakaanda, which is also directed by Rohit, got held up, as one of the actors, Shivarajkumar is currently battling an illness for which he requires surgery in the US, while Daali Dhananjaya is set to get married shortly.

Amid all of this, the fact that Uttarakaanda is a multi-starrer poses scheduling challenges for the team. About 30-35% of the film’s first part has been shot and the team is hopeful of resuming work once both Shivarajkumar and Dhananjaya are back. The plan, therefore, is to get Ekka done and dusted by then to ensure it meets its June 6 date with audiences.
