Netflix’s You is now moving forward to the fifth and final season with the streamer trying to make it as big as possible.
You Season 5 gets 4 new cast members
Did we ever expect that a show would push us to the point where we suffer from Stockholm syndrome at the hands of a fictional character? Well, it happened, and we're eagerly awaiting his return to subject us to another traumatic series of events to obsess over. This time, it's the final season of You, featuring the ruthless man with motives only he can express, Joe Goldberg, who is set to bring us the fifth and final season of the globally beloved show.
You Season 5, already greenlit by Netflix, is now gearing up to meet the expectations of fans who have been eagerly waiting for its return. In the latest report, we get an idea of the progress as it discusses the new cast additions to the show. Read on to learn everything you need to know about this important update.
You Season 5 is poised to continue the story from where Season 4 left off, and according to reports, Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg will revisit the place he left behind in Season 1. While the plot of Season 5 remains undisclosed, it's confirmed that the show will introduce several new cast members. According to Screen Rant, four new cast members have been confirmed. Among them are Natasha Behnam, known for The Girls on the Bus; Pete Ploszek, famous for Parks & Recreation; Tom Francis from Sunset Boulevard; and b, known for Station 19.
However, they're not the only new faces joining the fifth season of You. These four members will join Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), and Griffin Matthews (She-Hulk: Attorney At Law), who are also newcomers to the show.
You Season 5 is set to take place in New York, where the first season unfolded and where Joe Goldberg never returned. So technically, the last season will bring him full circle. Recurring characters from previous seasons will return, but there are also many new faces, some of whom may become Joe’s victims.
According to reports, Natasha Behnam will play Dominique, described as a hipster from a wealthy family, fiercely loyal to her assorted artist friends. While there's no direct connection to Joe as of now, she may be Bronte’s friend. Ploszek will portray Joe’s brother-in-law, Harrison, a former professional football player married to Kate’s sister, Reagan Lockwood. b is set to play Phoenix, a character who has suffered a tragedy and is shrewd and resourceful. Francis, on the other hand, is described as a wannabe author.
There are no details regarding the release date, but rumours suggest the show will hit Netflix sometime in 2024. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else in the world of streaming and films.
