Mandakini is preparing to star in a music video after a 26-year absence from screen
Mandakini, who gained popularity for Raj Kapoor’s 1985 movie Ram Teri Ganga Maili, has had a long hiatus. But now she will make her return with a music video Maa O Maa that also features her son Rabbil Thakur.
The yesteryear actress told Times of India that she is thrilled to work in the music video, which is directed by Sanjay Agarwal. The song’s meaning is self-explanatory going by it’s title; it’s about a mother.
Mandakini described Maa O Maa as a “very beautiful song” and she instantly fell in love with it. She added that the best part of this music video is that her son will be in the leading role. She told the outlet that the team will begin shooting the song end of April.
Director Sajan Agarwal also remarked on having Mandakini on board, explaining that the actor is from his hometown and that the music video will also be her son's debut. "Directing her is a dream come true for me," he said.
After Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Mandakini was seen in hit films like Dance Dance, Tezaadb, Ladaai, Kahan Hai Kanoon, Naag Naagin, Pyar Ke Naam Qurbaan, and Pyar Karke Dekho, among others. She was last seen in the 1996 film Zordaar, which starred Govinda, Aditya Pancholi, and Neelam Kothari in crucial roles, after which she chose to leave the entertainment world.
Sajan has written the lyrics for Maa O Maa while the music is composed by Babli Haque and Meera. Rishabh Giri is the vocalist, and Guruji Kailash Raigar is the producer.
