David Dhawan released his romantic comedy Yeh Hai Jalwa on the big screen 22 years ago. The Hollywood film Carbon Copy served as the inspiration for the film, which stars Salman Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles. Now that the film has reached a milestone, you can stream Yeh Hai Jalwa on ZEE5 (also available on OTTPlay Premium).

Yeh Hai Jalwa plot summary

In the film, after learning he is the illegitimate son of wealthy businessman Rajesh Mittal (Rishi Kapoor), the carefree orphan Raj (Salman Khan) decides to fly to the United Kingdom to assert his claim to the family name.

Kader Khan, Rati Agnihotri, Anupam Kher, Kiran Kumar, Rinke Khanna, and Sharad Kapoor provide supporting roles in the film, rounding up the ensemble cast.

Ameesha Patel's remarks on the film

Upon its release in 2002, Yeh Hai Jalwa turned out to be a box office failure. However, according to Ameesha, the film bombed at the box office because Salman was involved in a hit-and-run incident around the release.

During an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, the actor stated that among David Dhawan's finest films was Yeh Hai Jalwa. The music was great, and Salman looked dashing as ever. She believes that in the past, fans were more hesitant to accept bad news about their favourite actors because of the way the media reported the news. After Salman's accident, Yeh Hai Jalwa took the back seat. She knows of one film that would have done well with more audience support.

Yeh Hai Jalwa is the only film featuring Salman and Ameesha together. The actors have not reunited on the big screen for more than two decades now.
