The makers of Samantha-starrer Yashoda have unveiled its first glimpse video which offers a sneak peek into the project's story and genre. The 35-second video has Samantha waking up from sleep in a luxurious room after a long time to realize that everything around her, including time and place, has changed under mysterious circumstances.

She walks towards the window and finds a pigeon sitting outside. She tries to touch it, but something unexpected happens, leaving her stunned. Billed as a spooky thriller, the movie is set for a theatrical release on August 12 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma and Sampath Raj among others play pivotal characters in the film which has music composed by Mani Sharma. Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan have jointly directed the film which has been bankrolled by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under Sridevi Movies.

Marthand K Venkatesh and M Sukumar have handled editing and cinematography respectively for the project which went on floors last year. Yannick Ben, who worked for Amazon Prime Video's successful spy series The Family Man, has choreographed stunt sequences in Yashoda. This brings Yannick and Samantha together for the second time.

An elated Sam took to her social media page to reveal the glimpse and posted, "Very excited to present to you the first glimpse of our film (sic)." Yashoda will be the actress' second project this year after Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal which released in theatres a week ago.

It is heard that team Yashoda has completed a lions' share of its shooting including the climax portions. The crew is likely to wrap up the entire shooting in the first week of June. According to its makers, Samantha's performance and special effects will be highlights of the movie.
