Kannada cinema’s Rocking Star Yash’s last release was in April 2022, when KGF: Chapter 2 came out – a film that propelled him to newer heights of stardom across the country. The actor is yet to announce his next, dubbed #Yash19, but there is no waning to his popularity. For well over a year, Yash has not only held on to the Numero Uno position on a list of ‘Most Popular Kannada stars’ that’s published on a monthly basis, but he’s often made it to the National list too, as the only name from Sandalwood in the to 10.

Ormax Media’s Stars India Loves (Kannada) – Most Popular Male Stars, has Yash at the top, followed closely by Vikrant Rona star Kiccha Sudeep, Challenging Star Darshan, Kantara fame Rishab Shetty and Simple Star Rakshit Shetty. Ormax Media’s lists are published based on certain undisclosed metrics. While Sudeep, Darshan and Rakshit have been on the list in different positions, Century Star Shivarajkumar has also been in the top 5 on occasion.

Yash’s reign is unlikely to end anytime soon, what with news about his next being one of the most anticipated bits of information. The nation wants to know, but he has been in no hurry to let them in on what he’s been planning. There’ve been multiple speculative theories about who could helm his next, with Moothon maker Geethu Mohandas the current hot favourite. In the past, Mufti maker Narthan was believed to be next in line to make a film with Yash after KGF-2, but after months of deliberation, he moved on to make a film with Shivarajkumar instead. Yash’s popularity continues to be at an all-time high, what with beverage giant Pepsi signing him up as its newest brand ambassador.
