Yash and Divya Spandana’s Kannada film Lucky to release in Telugu, titled Lucky Star

Lucky Star is produced by Ravi Raj and has wrapped all its pre-release formalities

Whenever a popular star from another industry makes his presence felt in Telugu cinema, it’s generally a norm for producers to cash in on their fame by dubbing some of their older films into Telugu. This has happened for stars like Vikram, Karthi, Suriya and Sudeep in the past here. The latest addition to the list is not surprising - Kannada star Yash, who’s gained a following with KGF.

Yash’s next release in Telugu is the dubbed version of his Kannada film Lucky, in which he’s paired alongside popular actress Divya Spandana (Ramya). The Telugu version is titled Lucky Star. The film, that hit the screens in Kannada a decade ago, is directed by Soori and is a romantic comedy. Radhika Kumaraswamy, the presenter of the original, is associated with Lucky Star as well.

Producer Ravi Raj has acquired the Telugu rights for Lucky and will release it under Sri Durga Parameshwari Productions. Lucky Star has wrapped its censor formalities and is set to hit theatres soon. The Telugu trailer was launched by T Prasanna Kumar, General Secretary of the Producers Council, at a press meet in Hyderabad.

The event was graced by the producer in addition to lyricist Guru Charan, executive producer Kesav Goud, dialogue writer Surya. Arjun Janya had composed the music score. The producer Ravi Raj has also expressed his interest to produce straight Telugu films in the future. The release date will be announced shortly; the music promises to be its major highlight, say the makers.
