Yadha Yadha Hi, the Kannada remake of the Telugu crime thriller Evaru, released in theatres in June 2023. The film, directed by Ashok Teja, with Diganth Manchale, Vasishta N Simha and Hariprriya in the lead, had opened to decent reviews, largely due to the effective cast, even though the narrative was a scene-by-scene recreation of the original. Evaru itself was inspired by the 2016 Spanish film The Invisible Guest by Oriol Paulo. Yadha Yadha Hi, though, did not work at the box office.

Hariprriya and Vasishta's Yadha Yadha Hi on SunNXT

Yadha Yadha Hi is finally on OTT, having been picked up by Sun Network. Yadha Yadha Hi is available to stream on SunNXT from November 15, 2024. The plot revolves around the investigation into the murder of a police officer, with the perpetrator claiming that he had tried to rape her and that she killed him in self-defence.

Vasishta and Hariprriya, who got married in early 2023, were rumoured to have met and fallen in love on the set of Yadha Yadha Hi, but they later clarified that they’d been seeing each other much earlier, and that he got to be a part of the film after she recommended him. According to reports, Vasishta’s role was initially offered to Prabhu Mundkur, but he had to excuse himself owing to date issues. The film also stars Avinash, Manju Pavagada and Swati.

Hariprriya: I wanted to do Yadha Yadha Hi, but knew I’d be comfortable only with Vasishta also in it

During the promotions of Yadha Yadha Hi, Hariprriya had said that when she was approached to take on the role that Regina Cassandra did in the original, she was keen to do it, but realized that she would need a co-star that she is comfortable with, given that there would be ‘bold’ scenes.

Hariprriya has been on a sabbatical from cinema since her wedding. A couple of weeks ago, Vasishta and Hariprriya announced that they are expecting the arrival of their first born.
