Yaara Dildaara music video: Asim Riaz’s song has fancier sets that fit the tune but we miss Sridevi
Asim Riaz

Asim Riaz has appeared in the recreation of the Sultanat song Yaara Dilbar Dildar. His music video is titled Yaara Dildaara and is bankrolled by T-series. So, of course, the sets are upgraded from what was in the 1986 film. The tunes also fit in this time around but the one big element that cannot be replaced is Sridevi. The iconic actress-dancer was all grace in the song and her charm is something we miss seeing in the music video.

Zaara Yesmin replaces Sridevi

Honestly, there is no replacing Sridevi in anything. Even if the focus is just on her eyes, they also convey a lot. Zaara was roped in for the song and while she has her own charm, T-series could not present her in the way to utilize her full potential. Thus, she comes nowhere close to the original actress, Sridevi.

Asim beats Sunny Deol

On the other hand, Asim, obviously, got more opportunity in the song than Sunny Deol did in the original. His presence alone beats the original actor in the OG song (as much as we love Sunny paaji and the song). But given the current generation where flaunting abs is the fad, Asim is nailing it.

About the songs

The original song is titled Yaara Dilbar Dildar and was crooned by Asha Bhosle with Kalyan ji Anand ji as the music composer and Anjaan on the lyrics. Apart from Sridevi and Sunny Deol, the movie starred Dharmendra in the lead role. Karan Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Amrish Puri and Shakti Kapoor also played pivotal roles in the Mukul S. Anand directorial film. Apart from Yaara Dilbar Dildar, Too Hai Kamaal by Suresh Wadhkar became popular from the movie.

The recreated version is also sung by Asha Bhosle but with Harjot Kaur. Lijo George has recreated the music for this one. Rajit Dev came on board to helm the music video which got 260 million views an hour after its release.
