Prajaktta Mali was last seen in Raanbaazaar on Planet Marathi.
Imagine you have fallen ill and instead of treating you, the doctors find different ways to kill you. The trailer of Mukta Barve and Prajaktta Mali upcoming Marathi film Y (Vaay) is that nightmare which comes to life. Loosely translated as practice, Vaay will explore the practice carried on by doctors and where it all began.
Mukta is at the fore of it all. She realizes the scam, connects the dots and goes on her mission. That is where she comes across Prajaktta’s character, who, from the looks of it, is going to be one of the victims soon.
Watch the trailer here:
In the world of Y, if you get admitted to this particular government hospital on the last Friday of the month, be rest assured that you are never getting back home alive by Saturday. The only time you have is in between and even then, you are most likely not even aware that your life is in danger.
While mostly killed under medical practices (not giving the right treatment), these patients are also killed through innovative techniques – guns, axe, drugs added to glucose and more. The scary part is, this film is inspired from true events.
Mukta’s character tries to expose the scam through various techniques – getting access to confidential files, adding a hidden camera and more. She is then challenged and stated that there is nothing she can do to prove what she sets on to prove.
Directed by Ajit Wadikar, Y (Vaay) will release in theatres on June 24, 2022. The film will be Prajaktta’s first movie to be released ever since she appeared on Abhijit Panse’s Raanbaazaar in the role of a prostitute named Ratna.
