After the buzz that Vignesh Shivan has been dropped from AK62, the hashtag has been doing the rounds on social media
Over the last 24 hours, social media has been abuzz with the news that Ajith's upcoming film with director Vignesh Shivan, which was until now being referred to as AK62, has been postponed. Speculations are rife that the next film will be directed by Magizh Thirumeni, who had recently helmed Kalagathalaivan starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nidhi Agerwal.
The buzz is that Vignesh Shivan's project has been put on hold for now. AK62, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, will now have a completely new cast and crew. The digital rights of the film has already been bagged by Netflix for a whopping sum. However, there has been no official communication about Magizh Thirumeni getting on board.
According to IndiaToday, it seems like Ajith is not very happy with the script provided and hence, asked for a change in director. The final script, too, is not ready. Ajith had recently flown down to London, followed by Vignesh Shivan. And it seems like Vignesh had tried his best to salvage the situation. In the meantime, Vijay fans have been trending the hashtag called #JusticeforVigneshShivan, stating that they were disappointed by Ajith's gesture. It is to be noted that Ajith and Vijay fans are known for taking a dig at each other from time to time.
Vignesh Shivan had earlier stated that he was quite excited to team up with Ajith Kumar and called it a dream come true. The director, who had thanked 2022 for being an amazing year, had stated that he was looking forward to focussing on one big opportunity now: AK62! He had then written, "Grateful to Ajith sir and Lyca Productions Subash Karan sir the grand Blessing to drive such a big project! Looking forward to an exciting, blessed and a hardworking new year ahead (sic)."
