Starring Kim Nam-joo and Cha Eun-woo in lead roles, Wonderful World is a revenge thriller that is streaming on Disney+Hotstar
Wonderful World Episode 4 Story
The fourth episode of Kim Nam-joo and Cha Eun-woo's Wonderful World begins with a shocking twist that shows Soo-hyun's husband, Suho's, infidelity. When she finds the picture in which Suho is seen in an intimate position with another woman, Soo-hyun's life takes a sinister turn.
Meanwhile, she also tries to meet Kwon Sun-yool (Cha Eun-woo), the sole survivor of the fire tragedy, and tries to make amends on behalf of her dead prison inmate. The episode ends with another cliffhanger when Suho meets the mysterious woman secretly in a hotel room without knowing that his wife is following him. How will their lives change after this secret? The new episodes have a lot to offer.
Wonderful World Episode 4 Review
Episode 4 largely has flashback sequences and revolves around the delusions of the female lead character. The multi-layered narrative gives a fresh perspective to the otherwise cliched plot of marital infidelity and corrupt politicians. Wonderful World delves into grief, personal crises, healing, child trauma, and other heavy themes with a well-paced execution.
Each character has a strong backstory and the upcoming episodes will only make them interesting thanks to the unpredictability of recognising who the negative characters are. Several new characters are introduced in Episode 4, like the mysterious woman who messed up Soo-hyun's fresh start or the grown-up child of the man she murdered.
The episode also hints at the growing relationship between Sun-yool and Soo-hyun, who have elevated their stranger ties to 'guardianship'. Wonderful World is packed with many emotionally charged scenes, like the family reunion or the 'hug scene', in which Soo-hyun and her mother cry at the bus stop after witnessing Suho’s affair.
However, there are some drawbacks. For instance, it deviates from the central theme of revenge. In the recently premiered episodes for this week, we only witness Soo-hyun's sorrows after she gets hurt in many ways. From the never-ending pain and void of losing a child to society’s discrimination, the lead character is shown sinking into her troubles without any ray of hope or the mystery unravelling about Goowon’s death.
Wonderful World Episode 4 Verdict
There isn't a single dull moment in Disney+ Hotstar's Wonderful World. It invokes various emotions, be it excitement over the thrilling elements or emotional healing throughout the protagonists’ journey. Stream it for a rollercoaster ride of sentiments and oodles of entertainment.
