With Animal, Triptii Dimri takes a leap into mainstream cinema - 'People have mostly seen me cry on screen, but now I will make them laugh'

In Triptii Dimri's film career, Animal stands out for multiple reasons. Her ferociously feminist works, Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022), which depict the tragic tale of a woman struggling with shame and despair, stand in stark contrast to the Ranbir Kapoor-led violent drama. In contrast to her two OTT films Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial style is utterly mainstream. Triptii has two films set to release in 2024. The first is a romantic comedy called Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, which will star Vicky Kaushal. Rajkummar Rao will star opposite her in a social comedy called Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
Anxious about shifting gears
During an interaction with Mid Day, the actor freely admits that she is anxious about the reception her lighter performers would receive following her more dramatic performances. Most people have seen her cry on TV. However, she is about to make them chuckle. When one plays a certain type of character, they enter a state of comfort. Making these two films was a fascinating and challenging experience for her because it was so different from her usual work.

Currently, she is enjoying herself to the fullest as a result of Animal's enormous success. Even though her involvement in the film was somewhat limited, Triptii seems unconcerned with its brevity. She was completely at ease because she knew her role was crucial to the plot. The film's plot twist occurs because of her. As long as they impact the story, she would still be open to taking on small parts even now when she has earned a wider audience.
Learning from Vicky Kaushal
Vicky, with whom she co-starred in Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam taught her this. She called him a source of motivation for her. In the beginning, he had minor roles, but he was only concerned with the character and his impression.
