What is Wintertide about?
The official plot reads, “In the film, Beth, a volunteer watch person of an isolated northern city battles a plague of depression that transforms the few remaining residents into empty, zombie-like automatons. She discovers that by entering an alternative dimension through her own dreams, she’s able to stave off the illness during the long, possibly endless winter. But will her power be enough to sustain her?”
Is there a trailer for Wintertide?
The film’s trailer was dropped on October 27, 2023. It follows the plot adequately, showing an intriguing overlap between dreams and reality for Beth, whose strange ability gives her a special immunity against the wave of depression affecting her city, turning the afflicted into empty, zombie-like figures.
These depressed zombies soon lose their benign status and become hostile as the trailer progresses. Though it does not reveal what caused it, or what are the side effects of such a psychological endemic, the interesting premise of the story is sure to entice viewers with a new approach to zombie apocalypses and pandemic-like situations.
