Directed by Charlie Mcdowell from a script written by Andrew Kevin Walker and Justin Lader, the Hitchcockian thriller will premiere on Netflix
Windfall is set to bring a neo-noir thriller of Hitchcockian proportions to the silver screen soon. The upcoming film unveiled its trailer recently and it hints at a story, which is intriguing, to say the least.
The trailer opens with a man seemingly making the best of his vacation, taking a bite of the choicest fruits from an orchard and lounging by the pool in his vacation home in the sun. But we see that things are not as they seem, as the man has actually broken into the house of a wealthy couple and when the latter suddenly appear, they are taken hostage by the intruder, who tries to extort money out of them. But things take an even stranger turn as it is hinted that the intruder and the homeowner share a personal history, and as the couple gets desperate to escape it, things take a downward spiral.

The upcoming film is directed by Charlie McDowell, best known for helming The One I Love. It is written by Andrew Kevin Walker and Justin Lader. Walker is popular for penning the script to David Fincher’s 1995 hit thriller Seven.
Jason Segel stars as the intruder while Jesse Plemons and Lily Collins essay the role of the wealthy couple, held hostage by the former. Plemons, who has been nominated for an Academy Award this year for his performance in Jane Champion’s The Power of the Dog, has also previously collaborated with Segel and McDowell in the 2017 film, The Discovery.
Windfall will be available to stream on Netflix from March 18, 2022.
