Actor Vijay, who is currently working on his next film, GOAT- Greatest of All Time, is expected to do one more film before he concentrates on full-time politics. While the film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, does not have any director or team attached, rumours were rife that director Vetrimaaran might helm it. At a recent award function, the director clarified on the topic.

Will Vetrimaaran team up with Vijay?
After Vijay announced his political entry, speculations arose that he would do one more film with either Vetrimaaran or Karthik Subbaraj. With the latter recently announcing his film with Suriya, Vetrimaaran has been closely associated with the Vijay project.
At a recent awards function, Vetrimaaran was quizzed about the possibilities of him helming a Vijay-starrer or Thalapathy 69. The director said, "I don't know if I am doing it or not. The one who put out the information should be asked.”
Further, when asked if he has a story ready for him, Vetrimaaran replied candidly, "It was something that we had discussed long ago, but I don’t think it will happen now.” From what Vetrimaaran has revealed, it is safe to deduce that Vijay’s next project will not be helmed by the director.

Update on Vijay’s next, GOAT
Vijay is currently working on GOAT with director Venkat Prabhu. The team is shooting for the movie in Russia but recently flew down to Chennai to cast their vote in the Lok Sabha polls that took place in Tamil Nadu on April 19. GOAT is scheduled to be released in theatres on September 5. The film also stars Prabhudheva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Laila, Sneha, and others. Recently, the makers released the first single from the song, Whistle Podhu.
Even as Vijay concentrates on politics full-time, the actor’s aura still remains, which is evident from the audience fervour seen during the re-release of his 2004 movie Ghilli. Scores of fans thronged to theatres to watch the film again and celebrate it one more time.
