Will Vetri Maaran join forces with Thalapathy Vijay? Here's what the Viduthalai director has to say

The ace director stated that Vijay and he have been talking about working together for a long time now

If all goes well, Tamil cinema fans might see a unique collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and director Vetri Maaran. Yes, you read that right! In a recent interaction with the media, Vetri Maaran was asked about collaborating with Vijay for a film. Vijay had recently spoken about the importance of education at an event and Vetri Maaran's Asuran, too, had stressed upon education as the primary asset of a person.

Responding to the question, Vetri Maaran said, " We have been talking about a joint collaboration for quite some time now and that Vijay sir is ready to jump into the bandwagon. After wrapping up all my current projects, I will narrate a story to him. If Vijay sir likes and agrees to the script, we will work together."

Meanwhile, Vijay is currently shooting in Talakona for his upcoming film Leo. A video of the actor waving at his fans outside the shooting spot has been going viral on social media. The shoot for Leo, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is happening at a brisk pace. The team had recently wrapped their schedule in Chennai.

Leo has an ensemble star cast which includes Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas, Babu Antony to name a few. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Manoj Paramhamsa and editing by Philomin Raj.

Vetri Maaran, on the other hand, is busy working on the sequel to Viduthalai, which had Soori making his debut as a lead actor and Vijay Sethupathi as the fugitive Vaathiyar. The star cast includes Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon and Ilavarasu to name a few. Music for the film is by Ilaiyaraaja, cinematography by Velraj and editing by Ramar. He will resume work on his pending project Vaadi Vaasal and Vada Chennai 2 after he wraps up Viduthalai sequel.
