Will there be Rocket Boys season 2? Here's what we know

It's been just three days since Rocket Boys was released on SonyLIV and people just can't stop raving about it. The series features Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh playing the titular roles of Homi J. Bhabha and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. Although the first season has eight episodes, fans can't wait for the second season of the series. Ahead of the release of the SonyLIV series, co-creator Nikkhil Advani was asked for an update on yet another season.

The filmmaker told Money Control that there are 16 episodes in total. Advani shared that there are eight episodes in the first season, while the second season will show what Sarabhai was to Bhabha and what APJ Abdul Kalam became to Sarabhai. The filmmaker added that as the show progresses, the baton is passed in a sense, and the second season will be about more rocket launches and more about Kalam.

Meanwhile, talking to the portal, Sarbh was asked about his biggest takeaway from Rocket Boys. To which the talented actor said that Bhabha's quality of interest in things and absolute lack of fear of putting in the time and effort to make things happen was the most important takeaway from his life for him. Sarbh revealed that Bhabha was enthralled by everything from the architecture of the building to the splitting of the atom to the drafting of a letter, and he did so with zeal and knowledge, which excited him.

The Padmaavat actor also hoped that the show would inspire people to not view science as a geeky, stodgy, and stuffy subject. Sarbh shared that there seems to be a general distaste for geeks in the world and a bias against science, so he hopes Rocket Boys helps to break down that stereotype.

Well, it's no surprise that the show is getting lauded for its content as well as powerful performances by the leading actors.
