As per sources, this will also be his debut on OTT.
Raj Chakraborty’s Parineeta, which features Subhashree Ganguly and Ritwick Chakraborty in the lead, has received critical acclaim from different corners. As per industry sources, the director is all set to take his film to the national audience. According to sources, Raj has accepted an offer from Disney+ Hotstar to remake the film in Hindi. However, it is still uncertain if the project will be made in a web series format or a film. Meanwhile, Raj was unavailable to comment as he has been travelling abroad with family.
In Parineeta, Subhashree’s performance has been lauded by critics. In the film, she plays a young girl deeply infatuated with her teacher, Ritwick chakraborty. The film starts with a sweet romance and turns into a revenge drama. Until Parineeta, Subhashree was known to be a successful heroine in mainstream commercial cinema. With her performance as Mehul, she has been established as a diligent actress by critics. It was theatre personality Sohini Sengupta who trained her before the shooting of the film.
After Parineeta, Subhashree also delivered a powerful performance in Raj’s last film, Hijab Gabji. Along with Parambrata, Subhashree plays a parent of a young boy who suffers from mobile gaming disorder. The film has done fairly well at the box office. Meanwhile, Raj’s next, Dharmajuddha, which also features Subhashree, along with Swatilekha Sengupta, Ritwick Chakraborty, Soham Chakraborty, and others, is scheduled to be released in the next month.
Raj, Subhashree, and their son Yuvaan are currently travelling across North America.
